About

A studio led by directors and creatives making narrative driven and experimental films.

The work

We make short films that begin with a single image and follow it until it becomes something else. Bodies that knot into one another until it stops being clear where one ends. Runners crossing a rooftop who keep going upward, until gravity lets go. Painted portraits worked and reworked until only the line that found them is left.

Most run under a minute, and most are wordless. The intention isn't to explain something but to hold it long enough that it changes.

Approach

Much of the work is made with generative tools. We don't hide that, and we don't treat it as the subject either. Generation is reconstruction — imperfect, fused at the edges, short on detail and long on feeling.

What holds our attention is the moment before something resolves: the image still forming, the body still tightening. The studio is named for that — a contraction that hasn't happened yet.

Every film keeps its own shape. Nothing is cropped to fit a frame.
